What's in it for you:

Trane in Laval is hiring for an Equipment Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting multiple smaller-scale equipment projects within an equipment supply-only business environment. This role focuses on project planning, order and schedule coordination, financial tracking, administrative support, and customer communication to ensure successful project execution and high levels of customer satisfaction. The position provides job site support as needed for technicians or customers but does not include job site management or subcontractor management responsibilities.

What you will do:

  • Manage multiple smaller-scale equipment projects concurrently, ensuring effective coordination of schedules, deliverables, and project-related activities.
  • Plan and analyze assigned projects, establish project parameters, and follow standardized procedures to support successful execution of equipment supply-only projects.
  • Perform project-related administrative duties, including equipment order entry, purchase order issuance, work order generation, document coordination, and maintenance of project records.
  • Communicate with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, technicians, and internal support teams, to provide project updates, address questions, and support customer satisfaction.
  • Review estimated ship dates in comparison with customer or contractor schedules and ensure compliance with internal equipment ordering and fulfillment processes.
  • Maintain forecasted cost at completion and assist in controlling project expenses through ongoing budget monitoring and financial tracking.
  • Develop and update project schedules, including key tasks, timelines, dependencies, and milestones, as appropriate for assigned projects.
  • Support project cash flow activities, including progress billing coordination, collections support, and monitoring of project financial status.
  • Provide on-site support when needed to assist technicians or customers; however, this role is not responsible for overall job site management or subcontractor oversight.
  • Support an equipment supply-only business model with an emphasis on coordination, administration, customer support, and internal execution rather than field management.

Scope of Role:

  • Supports multiple active projects that are generally smaller in scale and administrative in nature.
  • Works in a coordinated support capacity rather than a full construction project management capacity.
  • Has limited field presence and does not direct field operations or manage subcontractors.


What you will bring:

  • Associate's degree in engineering or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; OR a minimum of five (5) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature equipment preferred.
  • Strong, demonstrated customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high paced environment with attention to detail.
