Overview
Virginia Dental Solutions is seeking an experienced dental professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. This Assistant Practice Manager (APM) role is ideal for a strong dental leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values teamwork, and is looking to grow into higher-level practice leadership.
The Assistant Practice Manager plays a critical role in supporting daily operations, team performance, and patient experience while partnering closely with the Practice Manager and clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Practice Manager with daily operations, including scheduling, patient flow, supply ordering, billing, and administrative workflows
  • Assist with front office, treatment coordination, and revenue cycle functions as needed
  • Help lead daily huddles and team meetings to promote communication, engagement, and accountability
  • Support staff onboarding, training, coaching, and team development
  • Monitor operational and performance metrics and assist with improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, and infection control standards
  • Assist with marketing initiatives and new patient experience efforts
  • Serve as a leadership presence for staff and patients; act as Practice Manager when needed
  • Address patient concerns professionally and in alignment with company standards

Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of dental practice experience (clinical or administrative)
  • Prior experience in a lead, supervisory, or management support role preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of dental office operations and workflows
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and lead with confidence
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Current or maintainable OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control certifications
