Job Description Title: PLC Engineer Comp: $80,000-$105,000 Location: Indianapolis, IN Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a PLC Engineer direct hire position in the Indianapolis, IN area. Responsibilities: Develop and support PLC programs, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems for water and wastewater automation projects Perform control system programming, testing, validation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting Support control system design efforts alongside Project Engineers Conduct program reviews and graphic reviews to ensure consistency and quality Participate in factory acceptance testing (FATs), project meetings, and customer reviews Develop submittals, O&M manuals, and training documentation Provide technical support to customers, internal engineering teams, and field service personnel Collaborate with production teams to ensure systems are built and implemented according to design Track project schedules, deliverables, and task completion while proactively communicating risks or delays Maintain accurate project documentation, programming standards, and time tracking Support after-hours troubleshooting and technical response as needed Assist with field startup, commissioning, and long-term system support Work with industrial communication protocols, networking, telemetry, VFDs, and instrumentation Support municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects Travel locally for field support and customer project needs Required Skills: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience in controls, automation, or industrial systems Strong PLC, HMI, and SCADA troubleshooting experience Experience with industrial control systems and communication protocols Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong verbal and written communication skills Technical understanding of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, and instrumentation Strong analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to support both office-based development and field service work Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally Preferred Skills: Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLC systems Experience with SCADA platforms including VTScada, Wonderware, or GE iFix Knowledge of networking, telemetry, and industrial communications Experience with VFDs and process instrumentation Understanding of UL508A standards and control panel integration Experience with field startup and commissioning in industrial environments Experience within water/wastewater or municipal utility industries #ENG123
