Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner and Scheduler that will work in conjunction with the Maintenance Supervisor to support the technicians, department and business success. The position will interact with our team, vendors and contractors to ensure cost-effective and timely ordering of parts, repairs and inventory replenishment. They will review work orders and evaluate KPI's using our Maintenance software system (AMMS) to improve inventory accuracy, document downtime and repairs, and ensure PM's and other work orders are completed as required. They will help guide the team and give feedback on work priorities and deadlines.
What you'll do:
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise preventative and corrective maintenance to maximize utilization and minimize downtime to operations.
  • Manage and develop supplier/vendor relationships to ensure cost effective purchasing.
  • Ensure spare parts are available within short lead times at the most competitive prices (while adhering to quality and safety standards).
  • Own Maintenance inventory levels and forecast maintenance work to balance supply levels.
  • Own responsibility for AMMS for the work order and preventative maintenance process, with equipment records.
  • Own purchasing for the completion of maintenance activities and miscellaneous plant items.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to determine availability of maintenance crafts to assist in delivery of new assets and capital projects.
  • Develop, train, and supervise maintenance technicians in a 24/7 operation.
  • Report maintenance activities and budgets to plant leadership and corporate functions.

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years' of work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with planning, purchasing, scheduling, or accounting involvement.
  • Must be able to effectively use software programs such as; JDE, AMMS, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel.
  • Functional knowledge of plant equipment in a production environment (pumps, motors, instrumentation, etc.).
  • Ability to give direction, prioritize efforts and lead a cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, grow and be a functional expert.
  • Good documentation practices, organizational skills and attention to detail.
