Job description

The Division of Cardiology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Electrophysiologist as an Assistant or Associate Professor to join our growing academic faculty. This position offers the opportunity to practice full spectrum of electrophysiology in a collaborative academic environment.

We're growing our team of 18 cardiologists and 5 advanced practice providers to meet increasing demand. Albany Medical College, founded in 1839, is one of the oldest private medical schools in the country and home to the Capital Region's only academic tertiary care hospital.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Outpatient EP clinic, including outreach
  • Inpatient electrophysiology consultations
  • Ablation procedures and device implantations
  • Collaborate with faculty across advanced heart failure, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiovascular imaging.
  • Support education and development of fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO or related degree with board certification or eligibility in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • Completion of ACGME accredited fellowship in Clinical Electrophysiology
  • Clinically oriented with research experience and teaching abilities to be eligible for an academic appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor.
  • Leadership qualities and assets are highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Passion for providing high-quality care to patients and advancing the field of cardiology. Experience with complex ablations, lead extraction and advanced device therapy is highly desirable.
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and collaborate with medical students, medical residents, cardiology fellows, and other healthcare providers.
  • Eligible for academic appointment and medical licensure in the state of New York.
