The Lead Clinical Floor Supervisor (LCFS) supports the growth and development of the Medical Assistant (MA) team by providing mentorship and acting as a clinical resource. The LCFS supports the Nurse Manager by ensuring the site MA team adheres to Westside’s clinical and operational standards, policies, and procedures in all aspects of their work. The LCFS may also assess patient health problems and needs, maintain medical records, advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, coordinate with other members of the patient care teams and act as a clinical resource for the team.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Schedule and monitor the performance of daily tasks by the designated MA group to ensure they are working in accordance with Westside’s standards, policies and procedures.
  2. Participate in the clinical operations daily huddle to support the needs of the team and our patients.
  3. Work in conjunction with the Clinical Floor Nurse to maintain vaccine and supply inventory and serve as a main contact for Vaccines for Children/317 programs.
  4. Complete MA timesheets, performance evaluations, performance improvement plans and formal corrective actions documentation, as indicated.
  5. Facilitate the timely completion of MA competencies for the site MAs and address any identified staff deficiencies.
  6. Participate in the recruiting, interviewing, orientation, and training of new MA team members.
  7. Meet with the site Nurse Manager on a routine basis to ensure good communication and to address any issues or opportunities for site improvement.
  8. Perform the duties and responsibilities of the Certified Medical Assistant as defined in the Certified Medical Assistant job description.
  9. Maintain Medical Assistant certification and CPR/BLS certification.


Requirements:

MINIMUM OBJECTIVES

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Successful completion of a medical assistant training program at an accredited institution
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a medical assistant, preferably in the area of ambulatory care
  4. Current Medical Assistant certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA or NHCA
  5. Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
  6. Experience using Microsoft Office software and electronic medical record software
