Under the direct supervision of the Branch Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager supports daily field operations, oversees new site setups, coordinates cross-functional logistics, and mentors team members to ensure operational excellence. This role is hands-on and requires a proactive, solutions-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

As a key member of the operations team, the Assistant Operations Manager plays a critical role in sustaining service quality, scaling operations, and ensuring AMERI-CANS continues to deliver best-in-class solutions. You will lead by example, by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to excellence in everything you do.


Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Duties)

  • Support the Branch Operations Manager in daily planning and oversight to ensure timely, efficient, and complete service delivery.
  • Develop a strong understanding of operational workflows, logistics, and administrative processes.
  • Oversee fleet readiness and alignment with both tactical and strategic operational priorities.
  • Coordinate and organize yard operations, including equipment staging, inventory, and supply optimization.
  • Refine and implement operational standards and best practices that ensure consistent, “bulletproof” execution.
  • Lead and coordinate operational execution for special events and projects to ensure flawless client satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for field execution, ensuring clear, concise, and professional communication between AMERI-CANS and its clients.
  • Supervise daily workforce activities, including time, attendance, scheduling, and on-site support to maintain team productivity and performance.
  • Mentor and develop field personnel to promote continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with Operations Management and other departments to ensure seamless execution of orders, billing, inventory, and logistics.
  • Provide consistent reporting to the Branch Operations Manager on operational trends, team performance, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with staffing and execution for special projects and events, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer expectations.
  • Support management with strategic planning, always thinking ahead to anticipate operational needs and growth opportunities.
  • Ability to familiarize and utilize proprietary enterprise software in support of daily operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work outside of “normal business hours” to include holidays, weekends, and off-hours as occasionally required to fulfill operational commitments.
  • Promotion potential within the organization including geographic mobility.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in operations or field management, preferably in logistics, construction, or portable sanitation services.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience is strongly preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required certifications, licenses, and registrations for the position, including:
  • DOT Health Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must maintain a clean DMV record.


Skills Required:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position. This role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods; use hands and fingers; and stoop, crawl, bend, twist, reach, and crouch as needed. The individual must be able to perform essential duties with minimal supervision and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and dragging up to 185 lbs.
