Job description

Basic Function

The Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a 24x7 operational environment supporting SB Energy's mission-critical infrastructure campuses, including the Freebird and Cosmos programs. The role supports enterprise networking, carrier connectivity, OT-integrated systems, BMS/EPMS platforms, physical security systems, and centralized operational monitoring environments.

This position works closely with Site Operations, Security Operations (SOC), Facilities Operations (FOC), engineering teams, commissioning teams, and vendors to support operational readiness, incident response, escalation management, and transition of infrastructure from construction into steady-state operations.

The ideal candidate has experience leading operational teams within data centers, telecom, utility, industrial, or other mission-critical environments where uptime, operational discipline, and cross-functional coordination are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of a 24x7 Network Operations Center supporting mission-critical infrastructure
  • Lead shift operations, escalation management, incident coordination, and operational communications
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs, escalation procedures, and operational workflows
  • Support operational turnover and onboarding activities for new campuses and infrastructure systems
  • Coordinate monitoring and operational visibility across networking, WAN/carrier infrastructure, wireless, BMS/EPMS, OT-connected systems, and physical security platforms
  • Support KPI reporting, operational metrics, alarm management, and executive reporting activities
  • Coordinate operational activities with engineering, facilities, cybersecurity, vendors, and construction teams
  • Support staffing plans, shift schedules, operational readiness exercises, and team development initiatives
  • Coordinate vendor escalation and carrier management activities during operational events
  • Maintain operational documentation standards and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support operation and management of centralized monitoring platforms and operational workflows
  • Coordinate response activities during operational incidents, outages, maintenance events, and infrastructure alarms
  • Ensure operational events are properly documented, escalated, communicated, and closed out
  • Support onboarding and integration of new infrastructure systems into operational monitoring environments
  • Work closely with Site Operations and Engineering teams to support maintenance activities and operational continuity
  • Assist with development of operational standards, reporting structures, and escalation matrices
  • Participate in operational readiness planning for future sites and campus expansions
  • Support operational coordination between NOC, SOC, and FOC teams
  • Ensure operational procedures are followed in accordance with approved standards and operational work rules
  • Promote a professional, customer-focused operational culture across all shifts

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in NOC, telecom, data center, utility, industrial, or mission-critical operations environments
  • 3+ years leading teams in a 24x7 operational environment preferred
  • Experience supporting operational escalation management and incident response workflows
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, infrastructure monitoring, and operational support systems
  • Experience supporting operational turnover from construction or commissioning into production operations preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ticketing systems, monitoring platforms, and operational reporting tools

Preferred

  • Experience supporting hyperscale or large-scale data center environments
  • Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, SolarWinds, or enterprise monitoring platforms
  • Exposure to BMS, EPMS, SCADA, or OT-integrated environments
  • Familiarity with carrier operations, WAN infrastructure, or DWDM transport environments
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, ITIL, Network+, or Security+

Location: On-site near Temple/Burlington, TX.

Base Pay - $140,000 - $165,000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks-while ensuring internal parity across our teams. In addition to competitive base pay, total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
