Job description

Job Title: Assistant Football Coach - Quarterbacks/Director of Recruiting and Retention

Offense Department: Athletics

Reports To: Head Football Coach

Status: Exempt

Purpose:

The successful candidate will assist the head coach on offense and in recruiting/retention. The candidate will be responsible for a recruiting area to be determined. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting direction and retention efforts for the football program. Consideration will only be given to candidates who have either played or coached at the college level. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Minorities strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assistant football coach Offense, quarterbacks position.
  • Develop student athletes academically and athletically.
  • Development of the quarterback position group, developing leadership and player performance.
  • Assist with weekly game planning, practice planning, and position specific drills.
  • Complete knowledge of NCAA division II rules.
  • Responsible for all aspects of recruiting direction and retention efforts in the football program.
  • Responsible for all recruiting social mediate and contact platforms.
  • Assign full-time staff members designated recruiting area and monitor acceptance/commitment rates to hit identified goals for program.
  • Oversee and coordinate all visit days, prospect development and ID camps.
  • Responsible for coordinating, supervision and accountability for number of hours of study tables.
  • Responsible for bi-weekly grade checks and monitoring for football program

Supervision:

Received: Will report to the Head Football Coach.

Given: The candidate must be able to work with student athletes in many roles, compliant with all NCAA and GMAC rules.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years as a player and one to two years as a college coach

Communication Skills/Requirements:

Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing as to work requirements, work in progress, and/ or work completion. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality is required. This position requires professionalism, competence and a positive demeanor in the performance of all duties.

Reasoning Ability:

Most work is moderate to advanced complexity and requires judgment depending on departmental needs. Able to follow instructions and directions requiring normal periods of concentration. Requires the ability to decide on a course of action. Must be able to manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
