Transport Assistant โ€“ Mortuary Services (Home Removal Support)
Location: Wooster, Ohio (must reside within 10 miles)
Schedule: 2 set weeknights + every other weekend
Pay Structure: Per Removal (Passive Income)
About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Transport Assistant to join our Care Team. This position supports our on-call specialist during home removals and ensures the dignified transfer of individuals who have passed away. This role is ideal for someone seeking purposeful, supplemental income and who wishes to serve families during their time of need.
The Transport Assistant does not respond to every call; however, they must remain immediately available during scheduled on-call shifts and be prepared to assist when needed.
Responsibilities

  • Assist the Care Team Specialist during home removals as the secondary transport support.
  • Help lift, secure, slide, and transfer the deceased in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Assist with loading and safely transporting the deceased from the place of death to the assigned destination.
  • Observe and uphold client confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrate compassionate, professional communication with families and team members.
  • Maintain professionalism, safe conduct, and respectful care of company vehicles, equipment, and environment.
Requirements

  • Must reside within 10 miles of Wooster, Ohio

  • Must have a valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record

  • Must be caring, compassionate, and able to support grieving families respectfully

  • Must be able to respond immediately when called during scheduled on-call hours
  • Must be willing and physically able to lift, slide, and transfer heavy weight safely

  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to maintain professional demeanor under stress
  • Must wear formal business attire (business suit required) while on duty
  • Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
Schedule & Compensation

  • Two scheduled weeknights per week

  • Every other weekend

  • Must be on-call and available to assist immediately when needed
  • Paid per removal
