Job description

The world's leading organizations and global players choose Proskauer to represent them when they need it the most. With 800+ lawyers in key financial centers around the world, we are known for our pragmatic and commercial approach.
Proskauer is the place to turn when a matter is complex, innovative and game-changing. We work seamlessly across practices, industries and jurisdictions with asset managers, private equity and venture capital firms, Fortune 500 and FTSE companies, major sports leagues, entertainment industry legends and other industry-redefining companies. We are proud of our many achievements across a full spectrum of transactional and contentious practices.

Proskauer Rose LLP is seeking a Legal Recruiting Assistant to provide support and assistance to the Firm's Legal Recruiting Department in the Los Angeles office. The role supports law student recruiting, callback interview coordination, summer associate program administration, recruiting event logistics, and candidate data management. The Legal Recruiting Assistant helps maintain accurate recruiting records and timely communications with candidates, law schools, attorneys, and internal stakeholders to support an organized and professional hiring process. This role operates in a support capacity under the direction of the Associate Director of Legal Recruiting and Professional Development and escalates non-routine issues, exceptions, or candidate-sensitive matters as appropriate.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Relevant internship experience or early professional experience in an administrative, recruiting, human resources, legal, campus recruiting, or professional services capacity.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive tasks, maintain accuracy, and communicate professionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of candidate and personnel-related information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn recruiting technology platforms.
  • Experience with viRecruit, Survey Monkey and FloRecruit a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position is based in Proskauer's Los Angeles office and will require physical presence in Proskauer's offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

Proskauer is committed to providing a work environment that includes equal opportunity without regard to race, color, gender, age, creed, sex, religion, national origin, disability (physical or mental), marital status, citizenship, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, or any other legally protected status.

  • Coordinate law school recruitment efforts for the Los Angeles office by tracking student candidates, scheduling interviews, compiling candidate evaluations , and maintaining status updates in viRecruit.
  • Maintain organized recruitment records and ensure timely communication with candidates and law schools to support a smooth and professional hiring process.
  • Serve as the liaison for students invited for call-back interviews.
  • Schedule multiple in-office interviews per day and handle all cancellations/changes as they arise.
  • Track interview feedback.
  • Organize and execute 1L outreach, including but not limited to planning law school panels, receptions and recruitment dinners.
  • Prepare Hiring Committee materials, including resumes, transcripts, evaluations, statistical reports, and other candidate-related materials needed for review meetings.
  • Generate response letters and track candidates in legal recruiting application tracking software (viRecruit).
  • Support recruiting event and summer program budget administration by tracking expenses, maintaining budget-related information, and providing updates to the Associate Director of Legal Recruiting and Professional Development or budget monitoring and forecasting.
  • Coordinate Summer Program logistics, including event planning support, RSVP tracking, name tags, conference room reservations, training schedules/materials, committee meeting materials, and mid-summer/end-of-summer review preparation.
  • Provide assigned administrative support for lateral associate recruiting or other recruiting projects, including scheduling, candidate tracking, materials preparation, and cross-office coordination, as directed.
