Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing effective forecast models to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained. They assure a sufficient amount of supplies without excesses.

Using analytical, marketing, and sales data a demand planner is able to establish future product demands with the goal of maximizing cash flows, sales selves, and service. In achieving these goals, a demand planner interacts with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Sourcing, and Manufacturing Operations. This is a role for someone who wants to use their analytical and interactive skills in order to have a direct impact on an organization's supply chain.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Create and execute inventory control procedures and systems.

2. Collaborate with Director of Procurement to negotiate with vendors and suppliers to assure the quantity and quality of stock acquisitions.

3. Collect data from multiple sources on factors known to affect demand, such as past sales data, marketing efforts, actions of distributors, natural disasters, weather, and political events.

4. Forecast supply and demand requirements to assure stock availability.

5. Keep track of inbound and outbound orders (OOS) to avoid overstocking and out-of-stock.

6. Identify and resolve issues by analyzing and examining supply chain data.

7. Maintain and update purchase orders, pricing, and inventory records,

8. Assure enough product inventory following the inventory cycle.

9. May coordinate and manage physical cycle counts, as well as reconcile reports if actual numbers are different.

10. Participate in inventory audits and cycle counts when needed.

11. Verify the matching of physical quantities in stock with those indicated in the soft solution regularly and take corrective action if there are any anomalies.

12. Prepare inventory and cost of sales budgets and forecasts at the entity level.

13. May review and approve inventory adjustment requests received from sites in the ERP system.

14. Assist with the implementation of information technologies to meet segment and site inventory information requirements.

15. Prepares and analyzes data using spreadsheets and forecasting software.

16. Gather sales projections using data from applicable company software system(s).

17. Assist with information input and extraction from ERP systems.

18. Assist the Warehouse and Procurement teams with administrative tasks.

19. Assist the Procurement team with material requirements validation.

20. Run, review, and report on obsolete and defective inventory.

21. Ensure standard operating procedures are followed, adjusting where needed to ensure safety, efficiency, and production demands are met.

22. Identify inventory control issues and monitor compliance, ensure that warehouse activities are in full compliance with federal, regulatory safety, labor, worker's compensation, and health/safety requirements.

23. Ensure conformance to AMHI's Quality Management System and other policies and procedures.

24. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.

25. Communicate effectively with others, provide timely updates, and attend meetings as required.

26. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and increase productivity.

27. Understands and adheres to Quality & Compliance policies and procedures.

28. Follows safety procedures and maintains a clean and safe work environment.

29. Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment where/when necessary.

30. Contributes to a respectful, non-hostile, non-violent work environment.

31. Understands the purpose, value, and impact work has on product customers and users.

32. Other duties as assigned.
