REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Proficient with HRIS systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication 

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Work, excel, power point)

  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.

  • Basic understanding of Canadian and Ontario HR related legislation (OH&S, ESA, PIPEDA, AODA, OHRC)

  • Familiarity with EHS standards (OSHA/CSA, ISO)

    Bachelors or Diploma in Human Resource Management or combination of equivalent education and experience.

We are looking for a Human Resource Assistant to join our team.  This position serves as a trusted to partner to the Human Resource team, and is responsible for handling day-to-day administrative duties.

DUTIES/RESPONSABILITIES

  • Process new hire paperwork, benefits enrollments, new-hire orientation.

  • Onboarding and new hire support

  • Responsible for HRIS data entry and data accuracy

  • Schedule interviews and support all aspects of the recruitment process

  • Responds to employee inquiries on HR policies, leave, and benefits.

  • Provide general administrative support to the Human Resource Manager

  • Perform ad-hoc projects and special assignments.

  • Attendance tracking

  • Employee events and general communication

  • Assist with annual compliance training

  • Assist in ensuring that policies and procedures related to human resources are followed

  • Support EHS by performing administrative support and assigned tasks

  • Respect and support the Howmet Code of Conduct and EHS rules and guidelines

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned
