Job description

Start Date: August 3rd
Location: Savannah, Georgia
Compensation: $30–$34 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday 12:00pm - 6:00pm
Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours per week

Family Support and Household Manager

A private family in the Savannah area is seeking a reliable and highly organized family assistant to provide household support, child-related assistance, errands, scheduling, and general day-to-day coordination. This is a long-term position for the right candidate and would be a good fit for someone who is mature, proactive, trustworthy, flexible, and comfortable helping wherever needed. This role is focused on both support for the school-age child (9 years old) and general household support.

Responsibilities include:

  • After-school, holiday, and summer supervision and transportation for school-age child
  • General household organization and upkeep
  • Light housekeeping and keeping common areas in order
  • Grocery shopping and other household errands
  • Coordinating household tasks, vendors, appointments, deliveries, and maintenance needs
  • Helping with pet care, transportation, and general attention to the family pets
  • Assisting with household systems, supplies, scheduling, and day-to-day family logistics

The schedule will vary based on household and childcare needs, but the position is expected to average approximately 30 hours per week annually. This is a salaried position with fixed regular compensation, with total compensation based on experience and agreed-upon scope of work. The expected salary range is intended to be roughly equivalent to $30-34 per hour based on the anticipated annual average hours.

Flexibility in scheduling is important, but the family will make reasonable efforts to communicate scheduling needs in advance.

Ideal candidate:

  • Prior experience in a private household, family assistant, nanny, household manager, personal assistant, or similar support role
  • Excellent judgment and discretion
  • Highly dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
  • Comfortable with school-age children and pets
  • Organized, proactive, and able to anticipate needs
  • Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of household and family-support tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
