Job description

Summary:
The University of Pikeville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Graphic Designer and Print Coordinator. This position plans, designs, coordinates, and oversees creative projects that support the University's brand, communications, events, and campus initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and design print media including booklets, handbooks, brochures, displays, forms, cards, programs, posters, billboards, etc.
  • Create and design digital media for the university website, social media, email, etc.
  • Monitor and update digital signage on screens across campus.
  • Coordinate and communicate with commercial printing vendors throughout the process of a job, from request for proposals to final print or installation.
  • Coordinate printing services with faculty and staff.
  • Work with the Facilities Department to update and maintain physical signage across campus.
  • Monitor brand management when it comes to making sure that the logo and other graphics that are used correctly by faculty and staff on promotional materials, flyers, etc.
  • Assist in designing and printing of the Alumni Magazine.
  • Assist in the planning and promotion of university-wide events, including commencement ceremonies, homecoming events, and admissions activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Art, Design, Communication, or related field.
  • At least three (3) years experience in related field, e.g. design, communication.
  • Must have knowledge of the commercial printing process.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Must have experience working with office equipment, e.g. printers, laminator, cutting board.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to perform simple calculations.
