Job Description
The Accountant / Grant Accountant will administer all grant accounting responsibilities by coordinating hours worked by employees for each grant or funding source, ensuring expenditures are appropriately being charged to correct account, collaborate directly with other units on managing the fiscal responsibility of each grant source.
Monitor all budgets through FMS and reconcile to provide each Director with a monthly accounting of funds through a Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. These reports will also be provided to the Advisory Board of the Innovation Center.
Prepare budgets for accounts with the Budget Unit Manager in the Office of the Vice President for Research. Coordinate grant budget preparation along with budget justifications of each activity.
Assist in finding grant opportunities for the Innovation Center and Technology Transfer Office to carry out their missions and provide greater fiscal sustainability.
