Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

To assist French faculty members in their scholarly, instructional, and co-curricular activities.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  Correction: Correct (not grade) some course assignments or homework, online activities etc (Critical Thinking*, Technology*)

  Clerical: Perform routine typing (e.g., course materials, materials to be submitted for publication, and/or departmental documents); photocopying; record keeping; and miscellaneous clerical tasks (Professionalism*)

  Computer: Input information into databases (e.g., Excel or other); gather information relevant to instructional or research projects from the Internet or library collections/databases; draft or assist in editing PowerPoints or other digital materials (Technology*)

  Library: Obtain and return library material(s) authorized by professor; order interlibrary loan requests; compile mini-bibliographies (Critical Thinking*)

  Special Projects: Assist with special projects (bulletin board displays, publicity for events, co-curricular activities for students, and/or other projects as assigned) (Teamwork*)

  Working with students: Assist in classes; tutor specific student(s), set up film screenings for classes (Teamwork*)


Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills) 

  Intermediate to Advanced proficiency level in French

  Ability to maintain confidentiality

  Ability to work with minimal supervision

  Ability to follow instructions

  Skill in using Microsoft Office and/or Google products (Google Slides, Docs, Drives) and/or Canva
