Job description

Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager helps create the ultimate retail store fan experience. This role is responsible for carrying out day-to-day action plans to ensure stellar sales floor operations and foster a safe environment for store employees and customers (fans).
Essential Functions
Description
  • Manages routine staffing needs by coordinating rest and meal breaks ensuring sales floor coverage. Acts as store manager on an ad hoc basis.• Guarantees accurate weekly cycle counts, product infill receiving and outboard shipment processing.
  • Trains store staff on matters of professionalism, product expertise and selling techniques. Leads staff on metrics and standards that support positive customer engagement.
  • Executes visual merchandising concepts according to the marketing calendar. Ensures that store presentations reflect standards set in visual merchandising manuals.
  • Handles routine and complex store opening and closing duties such as cash management and banking deposits.
  • Handles product issue resolution and accommodates customer needs when appropriate.
  • Partners with management to develop, implement, and track corporate-wide sales and promotional events in retail stores. Informs staff promotional events to increase sales and achieve targets according to KPIs.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in a retail environment required. Experience in the footwear industry preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a management, supervisory, or lead capacity preferred.

Any equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.

  • Ability to foster teamwork and manage conflict within a small retail environment.
  • Ability to develop and mentor employees.

The salary range posted for this position represents the anticipated hiring range for this role. Offers are made within this range based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market considerations.
