Job Opportunity: Disbursement Clerk

Location: East Montgomery, AL

Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Industry: Real Estate Law Firm

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Disbursement Clerk to join our busy real estate closing team in East Montgomery. In this role, you will be the backbone of our closing department, ensuring that funds are accurately managed and disbursed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong organizational skills, and is committed to providing excellent service to our clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Funding & Disbursements: Coordinate with lenders to obtain timely funding approvals and manage the disbursement of funds for each closing file.

Ledger Management: Maintain and balance file ledgers to ensure accuracy throughout the closing process.

Payables Management: Oversee all payables associated with individual closing files.

Logistics: Prepare and process overnight/courier packages to lenders via FedEx or firm courier services.

Communication: Serve as backup for incoming office calls and provide professional, friendly customer service regarding file disbursement status to clients and agents.

Support: Assist the legal team with additional administrative duties as directed.

Qualifications

Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in a law firm, title company, or accounting environment is highly preferred.

Skillset: A solid background in accounting or bookkeeping is a significant advantage.
