Job description

Position Summary:
Part-time Staff Assistant for the Rochester Technology & Manufacturing Association (RTMA) to assist the Office Manager, Executive Director and other staff as needed with routine clerical and administrative functions.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:
Reports to the Office Manager and will assist with day-to-day in office duties to support RTMA membership, networking events, and other association events. 
Qualifications:
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills
  • Skilled in customer service
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with social media (i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CRM/MMS system preferred 
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel within the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes Region (Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Wayne, Orleans, Wyoming, Yates and Seneca counties)
  • Must be available for the occasional evening and/or early morning event
 
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Office Manager, the Staff Assistant performs the following tasks:
  • Prepares routine correspondence
  • Set up and/or maintain paper and electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material
  • Assists with up-to-date contact details (i.e., names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses) for members in multiple databases. Member benefit and usage tracking.
  • Assists as needed for RTMA social, networking and member-oriented events 
  • Assists in meeting coordination, and taking reservation
  • Assists with photographs from RTMA-sponsored and attended events to be uploaded on the RTMA social media platforms and/or website
  • Attends events related to any programs supported by the RTMA

Work Environment and Physical Demands: 
Work is performed at the RTMA office (2024 West Henrietta Road, Suite 3J, Rochester, NY 14623) and may include secondary locations for member-oriented events. The RTMA travels within the nine-county Finger Lakes region (Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Yates, Seneca, and Wayne counties).
RTMA is open Mondays through Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Part-time hours based on need and availability.
Occasionally moving and lifting moderate amounts of weight and operating office equipment that may require repetitive hand movement.
Compensation:
Hourly wage ranging between $18 and $20 per hour - based on experience.
Mileage reimbursement at the current federal rate.
