EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
  • To help assist the credit recovery teacher in monitoring course activity in each assigned class period, as well as helping keep up with attendance, and assisting students with their coursework.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • Teacher Educator Certificate- Educational Aide

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Organizational Skills
  • Communication Skills

EXPERIENCE:
  • None

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Assisting the lead credit recovery teacher with any assistance they may need throughout the school day.
  • Helping answer student questions pertaining to Edgenuity or their coursework
  • Assisting students in learning the online tools provided by Edgenuity
  • Communicating with students' counselors on a regular basis.
  • Being in attendance and understanding that if the lead credit recovery teacher is absent on a school day that the paraprofessional will lead the class under the supervision of a full time certified substitute.
  • Keeping a positive attitude throughout the class and helping the lead teacher in keeping the classroom under control and focused.
  • Keeping track of students' progress online
  • Working with classroom teacher and communicating with counselors, regarding students' progress.
  • Communicating with the credit recovery teacher on classroom collaborating and checking in daily on progress within each class.
  • Actively monitoring students while working online the entire class period.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Being able to actively walk around the classroom and monitor each student's screen and assist with any questions.
