Job description

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN E-COMMERCE ASSOCIATE

As an E-Commerce Associate, you play a vital role in supporting our mission of providing employment-related services to the community by participating in all areas of the department’s daily operations. Every day is a little something different and offers both variety and routine! You will get training and experience in producing, researching, photographing, tracking, listing, and shipping collectible items for sale through various online marketplaces including, but not limited to, Shopgoodwill.com, eBay, Craigslist, and Gun Broker. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN E-COMMERCE ASSOCIATE

  1. Competent in computer orientation and digital camera operation.
  2. Must possess basic computer skills to support transfer of pictures to computer.
  3. Must be able to work quickly with fragile items.
  4. Must be able to properly use tools assigned (includes camera and scales).
  5. Must have good organizational and decision-making skills.
  6. Must be detail oriented with high level of accuracy.
  7. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and use a hand truck and/or pallet jack.
  8. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend stoop and work in confined spaces as necessary.
  9. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  10. Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  11. Must be able to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends).
  12. Must be dependable and prompt.
  13. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  14. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. * Demonstrate internal Company Values at all times.
  2. * Meet or exceed daily goal/production. 
  3. * Communicate with all members of the team to assure good product flow.
  4. * Handle all items with care to avoid breakage.
  5. * Tracks incoming collectibles from stores. Researches items for sale to determine value; may utilize online and/or written references. Accurately weighs all items and gives credit to correct store. Cleans Items when needed.
  6. * Using camera with attached wrist strap, photograph items for sale and accurately represent items in photographs. Views item and plans presentation, camera position, camera angle, lighting, and key shots to produce desired effect.  Camera shots will include defects in the product. 
  7. * List items online in a quick and accurate manner; adding appropriate titles, categories, product descriptions and attributes (including damages), appropriate disclaimers, photographs, description, measurements, and shipping and handling charges.
  8. * Accurately pull orders from shelves for packing and prepares pick-up orders for local customers. Generate packaging labels and postage. 
  9. * Package and prepare all orders for shipment. Handle fragile items with care while keeping refund rate less than 1%. Ship all packages within 5 business days. Keep shipping areas stocked with boxes and other packing items by keeping an updated inventory of packing materials.
  10. * Scan incoming product and lists books and media online with accurate descriptions, including damages. Ship all books and media within 1 business day.
  11. * Provide excellent customer service by answering incoming emails within 48 hours of receipt.
  12. Cross train to become proficient in other E-Commerce positions and assist in those areas when necessary.
  13. Attend meetings and training as required.
  14. Maintain acceptable attendance, personal hygiene, and dress code standards including wearing company issued name tags.
  15. Clean up all work areas at the end of each shift.
  16. Follows all company and department policies and procedures.
  17. Follow all safety rules; Reports accidents or injuries immediately.
  18. Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona, Inc. and persons receiving services.
  19. Assist in other areas as requested.
