Job description

SGI Global is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant II (Litigation Support) to provide litigation support services in support of the U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO), Western District of Michigan, Civil Division, Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) Program. The primary purpose of this position is to support Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) by managing electronic evidence, litigation databases, document review platforms, and case records while assisting with investigations and civil litigation involving fraud, healthcare, civil rights, environmental, and other affirmative enforcement matters. The position is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.*Position is contingent upon award* Job DutiesProvide litigation support services for Affirmative Civil Enforcement investigations and civil litigation.Organize, maintain, and manage case documents, electronic evidence, and litigation files using automated litigation support systems.Create, administer, and maintain document review databases while ensuring the accuracy, availability, and quality of case data.Collect, process, organize, index, track, and produce electronic discovery using DOJ-approved litigation support software.Assist with electronic discovery processing, document productions, and litigation hold compliance.Review and analyze documents, records, and evidence produced during investigations and discovery.Work closely with Automated Litigation Support (ALS) staff to manage case data, troubleshoot litigation support software, and improve document management processes.Prepare reports to track electronic discovery processing and production activities.Draft and review technical specifications related to document production requests and responses.Utilize litigation support and trial presentation software, including PowerPoint, Excel, CaseMap, Trial Director, and other DOJ-approved applications to assist attorneys during hearings and trials.Assist with obtaining forensic and vendor support services to gather, analyze, and prepare evidence and exhibits.Provide technical assistance and guidance to Civil Division personnel regarding document management and litigation support platforms.Coordinate with Assistant United States Attorneys, federal agents, law firms, and support personnel to facilitate efficient case management and document production.Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and USAO policies governing case data and records management.Qualifications High school Diploma is required, undergraduate degree is preferredtrong technical background working with computers, scanners, data storage devices, and related technology.Knowledge of litigation support technologies, including document imaging, database management, optical character recognition (OCR), electronically stored information (ESI), and technology-assisted review.Experience using electronic document review platforms such as Relativity and Eclipse.Experience using litigation support and trial presentation software such as Concordance, Sanction, and Trial Director.Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Working knowledge of Apple software and devices.Experience supporting fraud investigations, federal civil litigation, or trial preparation is preferred.U.S. Citizenship is required.Ability to successfully pass a Department of Justice background investigation.SGI Global provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
