Job description

This job is not remote and requires the incumbent to be in the office at West Palm Beach full-time. There is no relocation package available so you must live within driving distance to the office. Position compensation is commensurate with experience.

Position Summary:

An opportunity exists for an ambitious professional to be part of the accounting team that currently supports nineteen restaurants with combined revenues in excess of $50 million. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop current staff. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Perform various close responsibilities, including accounting consolidation, variance analysis, and monthly/annual reporting.
  • Improvement in monthly close process.
  • Manage external audit requirements.
  • Manage operational data while maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop a business partnership with store operations, support center, and management team to assist decision making and achieve desired business results by positively driving accountability.
  • Asset Management including tax depreciation schedules.
  • Preventing inaccuracies in financial statements by setting up internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting.
  • Understand and help oversee day to day POS (Point of Sale) system administration.
  • Help implement new systems and the upgrading of existing systems.
  • Sales Tax Processing and Landlord reporting.
  • Handling and Processing State license requirements.
  • Perform Maintenance in Restaurant 365.
  • Assist in the annual budget process.
  • Assisting in special projects as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ideally come from a multi-location geographically dispersed employee population in the restaurant/hospitality industry
  • Strong operational accounting experience coupled with business common sense.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of GAAP
  • Effective organizational and time management skills to ensure deadlines are consistently met
  • Must be hands on with an entrepreneurial spirt
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting ERP systems, (Restaurant 365) a plus
  • Self-motivated; high bias for action 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; CPA is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years in a supervisory role in accounting
  • The successful candidate will be accounting professional with a process-driven focus
  • Experience handling external audit process, including consolidations and footnote preparation
  • Strong Accounting experience and Operations business partnering
  • Possess strong leadership skills and team building skills as well as exceptional analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
