Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Controller:

  • Partner with the Controller to oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Review WIP schedules, overbillings, underbillings, job costing, and percentage-of-completion accounting
  • Support annual audits and serve as a primary liaison with external auditors
  • Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide recommendations to leadership
  • Partner with AP, Billing, Collections, and Operations to improve processes and controls
  • Drive automation initiatives and accounting process improvements
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, acquisitions, and special projects
  • Mentor and help develop accounting team members while preparing for increased leadership responsibilities

Qualifications for the Assistant Controller:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong construction accounting experience required
  • Prior experience leading, mentoring, supervising, or managing accounting professionals
  • Expertise in month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger, and reconciliations
  • Experience with WIP schedules, overbillings, underbillings, job costing, and POC accounting
  • Experience supporting annual audits
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
