The Role: Assistant Controller - Hybrid Pittsburgh, PA
We are seeking an organized, analytical, and proactive Assistant Controller to support financial operations across the Americas region. The Assistant Controller plays a key role in day-to-day accounting activities, supports regional financial submissions, and contributes to process improvements that elevate the accuracy and reliability of financial information.
This position works closely with the Corporate Controller, Americas, to strengthen financial reporting, enhance accounting consistency, and reinforce internal control practices across multiple business units and plant sites.

Chromalox, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is part of a global industrial organization that delivers electric process heating and temperature management solutions for complex applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support the maintenance of accounting records, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assist with the rollout and ongoing application of standardized accounting procedures across all Americas-based operations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Help strengthen internal control frameworks and ensure proper safeguarding of company assets.
  • Support internal and external audit activities, including documentation, coordination, and follow-up on remediation actions.
  • Provide operational accounting assistance to General Accounting and Plant Controlling teams in Utah, Tennessee, and Mexico.
  • Manage financial submissions, reconciliations, and control processes for non-JDE entities, including Brazil.
  • Assist with consolidation processes, intercompany accounting, and foreign currency transactions.
  • Contribute to the accuracy of consolidated financial reporting (JDE data feeding into TM1).
  • Document accounting procedures and help improve consistency across the finance organization.
  • Support data integrity across financial systems and assist with system enhancements or reporting improvements.
  • Provide support for tax-related filings, research, and ad hoc requests.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience; manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or TM1 is beneficial.
  • High attention to detail, strong judgment, and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring other finance professionals is a plus.
