Physician Assistant - Colorectal & General SurgeryLocation: CHPP New Hyde Park, New Hyde Park, NYSchedule: Monday-Friday (variable hours), rotating OR/office,      

Occasional late night in Howard Beach

Position SummaryCHPP New Hyde Park is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our busy Colorectal & General Surgery practice. The PA will support four board-certified surgeons and one APP across the OR, inpatient units, and outpatient offices. This role offers strong clinical autonomy, hands-on surgical exposure, and a supportive team environment. New graduates are welcome to apply.

About the PracticeYou will work alongside Dr. Marc Sher, Dr. Cristina Sardinha, Dr. Steven Schulberg, and Dr. Jane Yang-highly respected surgeons with advanced fellowship training and expertise in minimally invasive and complex colorectal procedures.

Work Schedule OR days: Start at 7:30 AM; end time varies (typically 3:30-4:30 PM) Office days: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (New Hyde Park) One late night per week in Howard Beach until ~7:30 PM (rotated among APPs) Travel: ~10% to Howard Beach and Forest Hills Schedules updated daily and confirmed weekly

Key Responsibilities Assist in OR procedures Perform daily hospital rounds Conduct office visits and provide pre-/post-op care Complete documentation and patient-requested forms Manage prescriptions, refills, and patient questions Collaborate with the surgical and clinical team

Common ProceduresAppendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, colonoscopy, hemorrhoidectomy, fistula treatment, major colon surgery, and incision/drainage of abscesses.

Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited PA program NYS PA license and board certification BLS & ACLS required DEA certification Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Interest in surgical practice and willingness to work across OR/office/hospital settings Motivation to learn and grow within a high-volume surgical team
