Job description

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. This role focuses on assisting with day-to-day project operations, documentation, and communication between the field and office teams. The APM works closely with project leadership to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.

The APM is an early-career project management role designed to build foundational skills in project coordination, construction processes, and project controls while gaining exposure to increasingly complex projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Support project managers in day-to-day operations and project delivery.
  • Manage portions of project scope independently, including procurement, document control, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, including tracking milestone progress.
  • Issue subcontractor agreements, POs, and change orders with limited oversight.
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and other project documentation in Procore.
  • Support budget tracking, forecasting, and cost reporting.
  • Review subcontractor pay applications and verify progress for billing.
  • Assist in managing change events and cost impacts.
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure alignment of design, schedule, and installation.
  • Participate in quality assurance/quality control activities and site walks.
  • Support MEP coordination efforts including equipment procurement, installation sequencing, and commissioning activities.
  • Assist with startup, turnover, and project close-out documentation.
  • Maintain strong, professional communication with clients, vendors, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Help facilitate coordination meetings and follow up on action items.
  • Build positive working relationships and represent the company with professionalism.

What You Bring

  • 3-7 years of construction experience, preferably with a general contractor; exposure to mission critical, data center, or technically complex projects is a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel; experience or familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam preferred, with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Basic understanding of construction documents, and project workflows.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in project management, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Competitive pay
  • Annual bonus target
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Opportunities for advancement in a growing, high-performing company
  • A team culture built on respect, excellence, and shared success
