Position Summary

The Digital Project Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of digital design, illustration, and multimedia projects in support of the Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA). This role manages endtoend project workflows across graphic design, scientific illustration, animation, and multimedia production, ensuring all deliverables align with NSF branding, Section 508 accessibility requirements, and federal communication standards. The Digital Project Manager collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, creative staff, and researchers to translate complex scientific information into clear, accurate, visually compelling digital and print content.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and manage multiple simultaneous digital projects, ensuring ontime and highquality delivery.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders, clarify objectives, and provide creative direction to project teams.
  • Facilitate meetings, communicate progress, and produce documentation as required by OLPA.

Creative Direction & Production Oversight

  • Oversee creation of graphics, layouts, illustrations, infographics, and animations for print, web, video, social media, events, and press materials.
  • Ensure all visual content adheres to NSF branding guidelines and contributes to a cohesive agency visual identity.
  • Direct research needed for scientifically accurate illustrations and graphical content.

Quality & Compliance Management

  • Ensure all products meet Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Advise staff on graphic best practices, visual storytelling, and creative approaches for presenting technical content.

Tools & Collaboration

  • Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud and related digital production tools.
  • Coordinate with crossfunctional digital teams (web, photography, multimedia).



Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design, illustration, or digital creative project management.
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Experience producing scientifically accurate visual content.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards.

Preferred

  • Experience mentoring creative teams.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics or video editing.
  • Experience with project or digital asset management systems.
