Job description

Join our expanding team at EGGER, a leader in innovative decorative wood finishes/panels. We are seeking a dynamic Architectural Sales Representative to drive our growth in the Texas market. This role is integral to targeting and engaging with the Architect & Design community to generate specification-driven projects and achieve our sales objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Account Development: Establish and nurture relationships with new and existing clients within the architectural and design sectors. Focus on generating specifications for our decorative surface wood panels products.
  • Brand Promotion: Increase awareness of the EGGER brand and its products among architects, designers, and specifiers. Actively promote our product offerings through presentations, seminars, and networking events.
  • Project Acquisition: Identify and pursue high-value projects in the planning stages through to product sale/installation. Collaborate with EGGER teams to close deals and support the successful purchase and installation of EGGER products.
  • Consultation and Support: Act as a consultant to the architectural and design community, providing expertise on project design, product identification, and application. Assist with project plans and specifications to uncover opportunities for EGGER products.
  • Market Intelligence: Utilize online tools such as Dodge and ConstructConnect to track key projects and architects. Monitor project progress from planning to bid to installation, ensuring EGGER's specifications and products are purchased.
  • Customer and Distributor Liaison: Work closely with distributors and customers to supply product information, samples, and support. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to boost EGGER product sales at the distributor level.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records in CRM or Salesforce systems, including managing sales targets, tracking leads, and generating reports. Complete administrative tasks such as expense reports and project research in a timely manner.
  • Training and Development: Conduct presentations and training sessions for architectural, design, and specification communities. Stay updated with industry trends and continuously enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRMENTS

  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop and sustain relationships both online and offline. Gain trust through competence and reliability.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation abilities with a consultative approach to extract vital project information. Experience in conducting CEU courses is a must.
  • Specification Knowledge: Deep understanding of the specification process and the ability to influence it effectively.
  • Market Research: Familiarity with services like Dodge or ConstructConnect for identifying key projects and architects.
  • Passion and Drive: Enthusiastic about the role, with a tenacious and results-oriented mindset.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
  • Ethics and Teamwork: High ethical standards and values. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed for customer meetings and trade shows.

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
  • Driving for extended periods of time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated success as a Specification Representative or in a similar client-facing role. Experience with architectural and design firms is highly desirable. Alternatively, experience as a project-focused Interior Specifier is also valued.
  • Valid Driver's License.
