Job description

Location: Bangalore 
Experience:
Minimum 10-14 years of hands-on experience in Java development with strong expertise in API design and microservices architecture. Proven ability to lead backend teams and deliver enterprise-scale solutions. Prior experience in financial or enterprise domains is highly desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance Java-based APIs and microservices.

Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to define technical solutions aligned with business needs.

Guide and mentor backend developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices across the team.

Own the entire API lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Integrate services with databases, third-party APIs, and internal systems using RESTful standards.

Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery strategies for deployed services.

Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to support CI/CD, containerization, and test automation.

Drive technical innovation and continuously improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Tool & Technology Expertise:

Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.

Proficiency in building RESTful APIs using JSON/XML with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.

Expertise in API security protocols including OAuth2, JWT, and integration with API gateways.

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases - PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.

Skilled in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Maven/Gradle, and deployment automation.

Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Familiarity with monitoring tools - ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk.

Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, including user stories, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Preferred Experience:

Prior experience in payments, banking, or financial services domains.

Exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and API governance best practices.

Knowledge of GraphQL, gRPC, or asynchronous messaging is a plus.

Java or Cloud certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified, AWS Developer Associate) are an added advantage.
