Job description

Material Damage Field Appraiser

This position is responsible for delivering highquality onsite appraisal services for auto property damage claims. Core responsibilities include conducting field inspections, preparing accurate estimates, handling onsite supplements, and managing customer drivein appointments. The role also supports related claim processes such as subrogation, salvage, total loss evaluations, and SIU referrals. This position requires strong technical expertise in damage assessment, estimating platforms, negotiation, and claim resolution. The ideal candidate must live in the Miami, Florida area and is able to work independently in the field with minimal supervision and serve as a knowledgeable resource for other claims personnel.

About the ROLE

Each day at AssuranceAmerica is different, but as a Material Damage Appraiser in Claims, you will:

o Perform photo based and onsite vehicle inspections to assess auto property damage.

o Prepare detailed, accurate estimates using approved estimating platforms.

o Identify repair needs and negotiate same with repair facilities.

o Ensure prompt and timely resolutions according to company goals and guidelines.

o Conduct onsite supplement reviews with repair facilities.

o Evaluate total loss vehicles per company guidelines.

o Handle special projects as needed.

o Adhere to compliance training to meet state and federal laws.

o Continued education to hold and maintain required licenses.

o Work independently in the field with minimal supervision.

o Serve as a technical resource for claims personnel and assist with complex claim scenarios.

o Build strong working relationships with repair facilities, vendors, and internal teams.

About YOU

Required

o Must live in the Miami, Florida area

o 5 years of P&C insurance background with a minimum of 3 years automotive appraisal experience.

o Significant knowledge of repair and total loss techniques and statutory requirements are necessary.

o Spanish-English bilingual proficiency

o Valid Driver's License

o Undergraduate Degree.

Physical Requirements

o Prolonged periods sitting in a car and at a desk working on the computer.

o Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
