Job description

AWS seeks a highly motivated, top-tier Network Engineers for the Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Network Scaling and Deployment team. This critical role will drive the expansion of AWS's next-generation IP network infrastructure, innovating in network automation and cloud networking technologies to build highly available, secure, and scalable solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge of networking concepts, experience in large-scale enterprise or service provider environments to drive complex issues to resolution autonomously or collaboratively.

They will utilize AWS's advanced tools to develop automations that reduce manual operations, implementing cutting-edge approaches to automate network deployments across AWS's global data centers. Responsibilities include leading the planning, design, and execution of large-scale network scaling and build projects, utilizing coding best practices and custom automation frameworks for seamless scalability and rapid resource provisioning. The role requires supporting 24/7 operations on-call rotation and the capability to work on-site for critical events or needs.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance

The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for the planing and delivery of network scaling and network build projects, including high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) reviews, bill of materials review, and defining and executing the overall scaling strategy and implementation plans for AWS's ADC regions. Your experience working in a network system deployments or in an enterprise network environment will help us implement automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems.
You'll also:
- Maintain Amazon Web Services' next generation networks for significant AWS customers by providing critical network support to diagnose, mitigate impact, and resolve large-scale networking events.
- Troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations issues; including necessary low level application interaction, Unix systems, and new age networking software tools.
- Lead network projects in the areas of network sustaining engineering, network deployment/implementation, network scaling, technology refresh, best practices application, and/or network optimization.
- Drive and support innovation from Top of Rack to the Network Core and everything in between.
- Partner with our broader Network/Infrastructure organization in the areas of network engineering, configurations standards, and tools.
- Work closely with our Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new designs and products, as well as assist with deployment and sustaining of networking software tools.
- Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies.
- Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.
- Collaborate with highest tier escalation engineers/resolvers.
- Create and review documentation and process regarding network implementation/deployments, recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
