Description
Canyon View Medical is seeking the services of a Medical Assistant at our Family Medicine clinic located in Springville and Mapleton, UT. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are welcome to apply. The Medical Assistant performs a variety of patient care activities to assist the Health Care Provider. They deliver quality customer service and maintain established quality control standards. The Medical Assistant assists in the care of the patient by following through on Provider orders for treatments.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician.
Assist physician in exam rooms.
Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart.
Gives instructions to patients as instructed by physician.
Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.
Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians.
Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.).
All other duties as assigned by the physician, MA Supervisor, or practice administrator.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program, or CNA certification.
Previous clinical experience of one year minimum or externship recommendation.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Knowledge of EHRs, preferably NextGen.
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
