Cowlitz Family Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center looking for a versatile Float Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work in various locations, support our dedicated staff, and provide exceptional care to patients wherever you're needed.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a medical provider. Assists Physician/ARNP or RN with direct patient care. Under direction and supervision by medical professional staff: administer injections, room patients, take vitals, record chief complaints, and assist with minor surgeries/procedures with a medical provider. The Medical Assistant interacts regularly with patients, coworkers, and various other people on a day-to-day basis within the medical clinic and displays a friendly manner, a commitment to service, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Wage Range: $23.00 - $24.77 Per Hour.
  • Schedule: Shifts are variable for all medical locations which include Longview, Kelso, Woodland, Castle Rock, Cathlamet, and North Beach, FTE 1.0
  • This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted WA Medical Assisting Certification. BLS/CPR certification is required within 3-6 months of hire.
  • High school diploma plus successful completion of a minimum of one academic year of post-secondary education in a medical assisting program from an accredited educational institution. Associates degree in medical assisting and/or certified medical assistant preferred

DESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • 1-4 years previous work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Proficient in Medical terminology and medical office procedures.
  • Ability to work with a low-income, multi-ethnic patient population and a demonstrated ability to relate respectfully and effectively to people of diverse racial, educational and socio-economic backgrounds
