Job description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accounting Supervisor oversees financial accounting staff and is responsible for managing accounting operational functions to accumulate and consolidate financial data for a multiple entity real estate development company.  The successful candidate will be highly organized and able to manage deadlines and rapidly changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring that company policies and internal controls are followed in all areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare, record and oversee prepaid allocations, accruals, revenue and other period end journal entries in accordance with close checklist and schedule
  • Provide cash management support for 200 bank accounts including transfers, reconciliations, intercompany loans, daily reporting, and improve efficiencies through system optimization
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review payroll funding and allocations; ensure payroll is recorded accurately; prepare bonus calculations
  • Fully understand intercompany allocations including credit card processing and oversee weekly intercompany reimbursements
  • Prepare jurisdictional tax returns and maintain business licenses
  • Manage jurisdictional tax audits
  • Assist with annual tax packet preparation as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Associates degree or higher education with accounting as focus study
  • 4 years or more experience in a fast-paced accounting environment in a supervisory role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Legally able to work within State and Federal guidelines
  • Sense of urgency and prioritization
  • Ability to success in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication
