Accounting Supervisor

Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: 100% On‑Site

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join a Finance team ASAP. This role will be responsible for overseeing junior-level accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and oversee junior accounting staff across general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close
  • Ensure accuracy and timely resolution of GL error reports, accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets
  • Supervise accounts payable processing, payroll activities, and non‑payroll tax withholding
  • Support sales and use tax compliance and related filings
  • Assist with banking and cash‑related activities, including foreign check collection
  • Provide guidance, quality control, and hands‑on support to ensure continuity and accuracy within the Finance department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar discipline
  • 5+ years of general accounting experience
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or senior accounting role
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, month‑end close, and reconciliations
