Job description

Introduction to the Job
Join ASML in San Diego as a Senior Quality Engineer and help shape the future of semiconductor manufacturing. Your work will ensure our deep ultraviolet (DUV) systems meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will improve parts and processes, strengthen performance, and support customer success across the factory.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will lead cross-functional improvement initiatives. You will use data, structured methods, and clear communication to prevent issues, solve problems, and sustain results. This role requires working in a cleanroom environment, wearing protective gear for the entire shift. You will be onsite 100% during working hours.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Acts as a role model for quality standards and as mentor to more junior colleagues.
  • Introduces and drives new quality approaches, leads and drives projects to resolve quality problems.
  • Self-propelling within own area of expertise, subject to high-level direction.
  • Manages inspections, audits, and assessments, ensures process adherence.
  • Leads more complex data analysis activities, using advanced statistical techniques to analyze quality data and generate actionable recommendations.
  • Leads the development and documentation of complex quality processes.
  • Generates detailed reports on quality performance, highlighting trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks.
  • Leads root cause analysis for more complex quality issues across teams, applying advanced problem-solving techniques to identify underlying causes.
  • Develops and implements solutions to prevent recurrence of quality deviations.
  • Leads interactions with customers, understanding their quality-related needs and concerns and ensures that customer expectations are met.
  • Applies advanced communication skills to manage customer expectations, ensuring alignment with quality standards and processes.

Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering, or other relevant area with thorough experience or Bachelor degree with deep/extensive experience.
  • Proven performance in one or more of the related areas (Supplier/Manufacturing Quality, Lean, Six Sigma Problem Solving, ISO Auditor, SPC, etc.)
  • Preferably has experience in working in a global technology environment within manufacturing and/or quality engineering.
  • Strong professional with 'hands on' mentality to lead, drive and sustain changes.
  • Proven track record in creating sense of urgency, leading and managing escalations to systematically drive the development and implementation of solutions.
  • Able to functionally influence, inspire and engage SMEs (Subject Matter Experts).
  • Required minimum of seven years' experience in related areas of expertise.
  • Ability to generate quality reports and develop other quality content for management.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$102,375-153,563
Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
