Summary:


Essentra is looking for a 1st Shift Quality Parts Handler who will report to the Molding Shift Supervisor. The Quality Parts Handler duties include working at presses producing a variety of injection molded plastic parts, examining parts for defects or deviations from manufacturing specifications. The hours are 8am to 4pm.



Typical Accountabilities:


• Work at machine or at a workstation producing a variety of parts.

• Prepare to work by studying and understanding instructions, drawings, and parts lists.

• Document products on production forms.

• Read and understand blueprints and specifications.

• Monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards.

• Recommend adjustments to the process.

• Inspect, test, or measure products being produced, verifying that products meet documented specifications.

• Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.

• Accept or reject finished parts.

• Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.

• Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.

• Report inspection and test data.

• Maintain a clean and safe work station/ environment, complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.

• Communicate with team member and management, participating in problem-solving, and providing feedback/ recommendations.

• Complete Quality training at the appointed time.


Qualifications:


• Previous work experience in manufacturing.

• Pay specific attention to detail.

• Ability to follow a set of specific instructions.

• Ability to do repetitive work, stand for long period of time (sometimes 100%), lift up to 50 pounds on a regular, and perform physically demanding work, such as reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, twisting, and bending. Specific vision abilities which include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Experience using a set of calipers is very helpful.

• Mathematical ability which includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, conversion of fractions to decimals and vice versa, working with formulas and percentages. 

• Computer proficiency, experience with Windows-based office applications.

• Comply with all company policies and procedures; quality management systems; and environmental, health, and safety regulations.
