Job Summary:

  • The ASC Registered Nurse is responsible for providing assistance to the Medical staff in the ASC.
  • The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing pre & post op patient care in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Position must maintain active communication regarding patient status/progress with health team members, and health care providers.
  • This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Spine Team Texas.
  • The ASC RN reports directly to the ASC Nurse Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • It is the responsibility of the ASC Registered Nurse to assist all Medical staff within the ASC during procedures.
  • Position is also responsible for providing patient care during pre & post op in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate notations in patient charts regarding patient status and condition.
  • This position will provide back-up coverage to the ASC/Clinical nursing staff as needed and required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be required by the THR/STT ASC Clinical Nurse Manager.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Position may require lifting of patients when necessary while performing daily job functions. Standing for an extended amount of time while assisting patients with therapy, is required for this position. Must be able to work under pressure. Tasks may involve exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements & Position Qualifications:

  • Current Texas RN License
  • Current BLS, ACLS certifications (or obtained with-in 30 days of start date)
  • Preferred experience in OR or Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to effectively present information to senior management.
  • Excellent organizational ability.
  • Possess the ability to plan and execute work projects.
  • Possess the ability to work productively, either independently or with other individuals.
  • Proficient in communicating in the English language both written and verbally.
