Duration: 6-12 months
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IBM i (AS/400) hardware and operating systems.
- Monitor system performance, run system diagnostics, and perform routine maintenance.
- Manage user profiles, authority levels, job queues, output queues, and device configurations.
- Perform backups and recoveries using BRMS or other backup tools.
- Apply PTFs and software upgrades with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Schedule and monitor batch jobs, resolve job failures, and optimize job performance.
- Provide system support for application teams and end users.
- Maintain security and compliance through system auditing and role-based access control.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-7 years of experience administering AS400 / IBM i environments.
- Strong knowledge of IBM i operating system, CL programming, and DB2/400.
- Experience with BRMS, HMC, and Power Systems hardware.
- Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) tools.
