Job description

 PROGRAM MANAGER II 

University of Alabama at Birmingham

Reporting to the ArtPlay Director, this curriculum-based position leads the design, coordination, and implementation of PreK-12 educational programs and partnerships that advance ArtPlay's mission to make the arts accessible and educationally meaningful. The Program Manager II builds and sustains relationships with schools, teaching artists, and community partners while ensuring that all educational initiatives align with academic standards and best practices in arts education. This position oversees programs such as Vocabby's World, Meet the Artist, MTA on the Road, AEIVA Field Trips and Immersions, Day in the Arts, Arts Integration Initiatives, Professional Development Workshops, and the Emerging Arts Educators Mentorship Program.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

        Responsible for administratively managing a large or complex University program or multiple programs.

        Provides input in the development of program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters.

        Typically supervises small staffs and are responsible for long range planning.

        Responsibilities include budgeting, networking/public relations, technical training and assistance, grant and report writing.

        May handle regulatory responsibilities, contract submissions and identify research funding.

        May handle event planning and oversight of construction projects.

        Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $55,000- $60,000

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, Arts Administration, Fine Arts, Music, Theatre, Arts, or a related field and five (5) years of extensive experience with children and the arts required. Master's degree preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
