Position Type: Part-time Internship

Internship Length: September 7, 2026 - December 18, 2026

This internship is a fixed-term position lasting 15 weeks, with a maximum of 15 hours per week. It does not guarantee extension or continued employment beyond the program. Candidates must be available for the full duration of the program.

mtheory provides artist managers with services, support, and capabilities across a wide range of disciplines, including marketing, touring, live event production, financing, digital services, and label services. Some of our manager clients include Backforty Management (Shakey Graves), The Gray Slate (Blackberry Smoke), and artists including Wyatt Flores, Tyler Childers, Jo Dee Messina, Underoath and many more. Based in New York and Nashville, mtheory offers artist managers a platform to build their businesses and enhance their artists' careers.

Our ideal Tour Marketing Intern is a motivated self-starter with a passion for music and touring. They are eager to learn, comfortable using digital platforms and analytics tools, and ready to support both marketing campaigns and tour operations. A positive attitude, adaptability, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed are key to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting mtheory's marketing associates, and client managers with day-to-day marketing needs
  • Creating BandsInTown blasts and geo-targeting emails for upcoming shows
  • Managing tour ticket trackers
  • Adding shows into BandsInTown, Songkick and Seated when necessary
  • Attend and participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Create and manage artist one sheets, press and other associated promotional materials
  • Conduct vital artist research, including social network analysis, music platform analysis, touring history analysis, and online properties analysis
  • Participate in marketing meetings, mapping out artists' creative and social media campaigns

Preferred Skills

  • High energy, enthusiasm and a desire to learn
  • A self-starter who can take direction but work independently
  • A strong interest in music, artist management and touring
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Spotify for Artists, Pandora AMP, BandsInTown, Songkick and Seated

Position Information
