What you will be responsible for:
We are looking for an experienced Area Superintendent to be part of the core leadership team launching and scaling our LA market expansion. Combining experience around residential construction, subcontractor management, building department engagement, and team management, this role will work closely with the planning & operations, design, and development teams to ensure that field teams have the necessary training, support, and resources to assemble and commission Aro Homes safely, to high-quality standards, and within budget and schedule. This role will oversee all construction projects and field teams in the area, with a primary focus on enhancing team capabilities, maintaining safety and compliance, ensuring top-notch quality, and assessing and building the resources needed to successfully deliver projects and grow the team. To be successful in this role, you must be a proactive leader, team player, open communicator and problem solver. You must be an excellent mentor, and lead with humility.
What You'll Do:
  • Safety
  • Promote a culture of safety across all projects, ensuring adherence to company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Provide regular safety training and ensure teams have the necessary resources to work safely.
  • Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Training & Coaching
  • Identify skill gaps and create targeted initiatives to build team competencies.
  • Recruit, lead, and mentor the field team.
  • Develop and implement technical construction training programs for site superintendents and field teams.
  • Act as a mentor and coach, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Project Execution
  • Monitor progress across multiple projects to ensure alignment with quality and schedule objectives.
  • Support superintendents and field teams in resolving complex project challenges and resource constraints.
  • Drive accountability and foster collaboration to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Quality
  • In partnership with planning & ops, design, customer service & sales, establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards to meet company and customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet established standards, educating field teams on completing quality work efficiently without the need for repeated rework.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Planning & Continuous Improvement
  • In partnership with planning & ops and procurement, as well as manufacturing, allocate resources and review scopes for upcoming projects.
  • Work with planning & ops, procurement, and manufacturing to develop and improve processes to support field team personnel, equipment, and material needs.
  • Assist the product development process, helping to optimize for: safety, quality, time to completion, and cost.
  • Continuously benchmark the best in the world and incorporate best practices into our Team, seeking new ideas and innovation for within and outside the organization
  • Drive continuous improvement and the relentless pursuit of being better tomorrow than we are today.

What You'll Bring:
  • Track record of success and advancement in related roles.
  • At least 8 years of general construction experience in the single-family residential space.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a manager or team leader.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Proven ability to train and support teams across multiple construction sites.
  • Heavy career focus on safety and quality.
  • Demonstrated experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the US construction field.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to speed, quality and safety.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital project management systems. (e.g. Procore, Buildertrend, P6, Jira)
  • Ability to respectfully voice opinions, gracefully receive feedback, and collaboratively analyze and resolve problems.
