Job description

The Cloud Computing Specialist (CCS) – SME will serve as a technical authority for cloud-based systems supporting the Legacy AMPS program within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This position ensures the secure, efficient, and compliant operation of cloud infrastructure, including Oracle Cloud (OCI) hosting, SSO, and Privileged Access Management solutions. The CCS – SME collaborates with program leadership, government stakeholders, and technical teams to provide expert guidance, implement cloud security standards, and support mission-critical identity and access management operations. This role is key to maintaining the integrity, availability, and performance of DLA’s cloud services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cloud Administration & Architecture
    • Manage and administer OCI tenancy for DLA, ensuring security, scalability, and integration with AMPS and associated services.
    • Secure and isolate cloud resources, including compute, storage, and networking components.
    • Provide expertise in hybrid, edge, and cloud-native architectures to optimize performance and resilience.
System Integration
    • Administer middleware and web tiers, including SSO and PAM solutions.
    • Create and manage users, groups, roles, and access policies consistent with IAM and security standards.
    • Coordinate with AMPS PMO, system administrators, and development teams to ensure seamless cloud integration.
Security & Compliance
    • Implement and maintain cloud security controls per DoD RMF and NIST 800-53 guidelines.
    • Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and FedRAMP compliance validation.
    • Maintain operational compliance with DoD IL5, SRG, STIG, and FIPS requirements.
Automation & DevOps Support
    • Automate cloud provisioning, monitoring, and operational tasks using scripting (Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
    • Support DevSecOps pipeline integration for cloud-based applications.
    • Implement best practices for CI/CD and containerized application deployments (OCI / OKE).
Technical Guidance & Reporting
    • Provide SME guidance on cloud architecture, IAM, and security posture.
    • Develop technical documentation, reports, and status updates for the COR and program leadership.
    • Leverage DOD/DLA-approved AI/ML capabilities to enhance operational efficiency and risk management.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must hold Active Secret Clearance
  • 5+ years in DoD IL5 OCI administration, maintenance, and support.
  • Experience with Information Systems Architecture, Security Engineering, and Networking in cloud environments.
  • Proven expertise in RMF and NIST Certification & Accreditation (C&A).
  • Cybersecurity experience, including assessment and authorization of large-scale information systems.
  • Required Certifications - DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAM Level I or higher, Cloud security certification such as CCSP, CCSK, or OCI Specialty Certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership in large-scale DoD cloud deployments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
