The Legal Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative and operational support to an in-house corporate legal department. This role partners closely with attorneys, compliance teams, and business stakeholders to support contract management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and legal operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, business-minded, and comfortable handling confidential corporate matters in a fast-paced environment. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent proofreading abilities, and advanced word processing skills. This is a hybrid role.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Legal & Administrative Support
  • Provide administrative support
  • Draft, format, proofread, and maintain legal documents, including contracts, NDAs, policies, resolutions, and correspondence (redlining, comparing docs, converting pdfs, outlines, tables)
  • Maintain corporate records, legal files, and document repositories in accordance with company policies
  • Support internal policies, training documentation, and compliance communications
  • Act as a key point of contact between the legal department and internal stakeholders

Contract & Matter Management
  • Support contract lifecycle management, including intake, tracking, execution, and archiving
  • Coordinate signatures, approvals, and document routing using contract management tools
  • Track legal matters, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple business units

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required
  • 1 years of experience in a law firm setting or in-house legal department, corporate legal environment, or comparable role
  • Strong understanding of corporate legal functions, contracts, and governance processes
  • Proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Word and legal/contract management systems
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred
  • Ability to support a small in-house legal team, including attorneys and paralegals
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree; legal studies or business administration preferred
  • North Carolina Notary Public Certification a plus

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.   • Although very minimal, flexibility to travel as needed is preferred.
