Project Overview:
Bechtel's Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. M&T is an exciting and growing business unit that serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets. Job Summary:
Assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned architectural discipline and area. Supervises direct hire Craft Professional activities, potential subcontractors, and others, as assigned. Ensuring assigned construction operations and discipline specific performance are following safety standards, specifications, within schedule time frames, and on budget. Performs general functions inherent in all Craft Professional supervisory field positions. #LI-ME1
Major Responsibilities:
  • Provides daily direction to Craft Professionals performing architectural work activities.
  • Determines workforce requirements for assigned architectural construction activities.
  • Coordinates and is responsible for tools, material, and equipment are available as needed to achieve safe, efficient, and quality installation.
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by your area and discipline.
  • Monitors architectural installation activities and ensures the quality of work performed meets project standards and specifications.
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
  • Monitors the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Responsible for the implementation of project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
  • Coordinates activities with other disciplines and/or areas as instructed by construction management to ensure project safety expectations, schedules, and objectives are maintained.
  • Performs employee reviews and identifies training and development opportunities for Craft Professionals.
  • Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into every aspect of construction operations.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience working with Direct Hire Craft Professional workforce.
  • Prior experience building complex, large architectural scopes on industrial or commercial projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of architectural construction, building envelope, interiors, finishes, waterproofing, insulation interfaces, doors, hardware, and architectural installation requirements.
  • Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities on large industrial construction porjects.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications (time keeping, schedule development, drawing & specification database).
  • Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment; setting expectations and following through.
  • Previous experience working with subcontractor and responsibilities contained in subcontract documents (preferred).
