As of Jun 12, 2026, the average yearly pay for remodeling superintendent in the United States is $102,373.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $84,500.00 and $118,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Who gets paid more, a project manager or a superintendent?

In remodeling projects, project managers typically earn higher salaries than superintendents due to their broader responsibilities in planning, budgeting, and client communication. Superintendents focus on daily on-site supervision and coordination, often earning less but gaining experience in field management. Salary differences can vary based on experience, location, and company size.

How much do construction superintendents make an hour?

Construction superintendents, including remodeling superintendents, typically earn between $25 and $50 per hour, depending on experience, location, and project complexity. They often oversee daily operations, coordinate trades, and ensure safety standards on job sites.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remodeling Superintendent, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remodeling Superintendent, you need comprehensive knowledge of construction management, building codes, project scheduling, and a proven track record in residential or commercial remodeling. Familiarity with project management software, blueprint reading, and OSHA safety certifications are typically required. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are essential soft skills for coordinating teams and managing client expectations. These skills and qualifications ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

What does a Remodeling Superintendent do?

A Remodeling Superintendent oversees construction projects that involve renovating or updating existing structures. They are responsible for managing daily operations on the job site, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, and keeping projects on schedule and within budget. Their duties also include communicating with clients, resolving issues that arise during construction, and making sure that all work meets quality standards. Essentially, they ensure that remodeling projects run smoothly from start to finish.

What is the difference between Remodeling Superintendent vs Construction Supervisor?

AspectRemodeling SuperintendentConstruction Supervisor
CredentialsExperience in remodeling, certifications like OSHA, possibly state-specific licensesConstruction management experience, certifications like OSHA, possibly a general contractor license
Work EnvironmentResidential and commercial renovation sitesVariety of construction sites, including new builds and renovations
Industry UsagePrimarily in remodeling and renovation projectsBroader, including new construction and large-scale projects

The Remodeling Superintendent focuses on overseeing renovation projects, managing remodeling crews, and ensuring quality in residential and commercial remodels. In contrast, the Construction Supervisor has a broader role, managing various types of construction projects, including new builds. While both roles require similar certifications and experience, the Remodeling Superintendent specializes in renovation environments, making their expertise more tailored to remodeling projects.

What jobs pay 10,000 a month without a degree?

Remodeling superintendents can earn around $10,000 or more per month through experience, project management skills, and overseeing large-scale renovation projects. High earnings in this field often depend on the complexity of projects, reputation, and the ability to manage multiple crews efficiently.

What are some common challenges faced by a Remodeling Superintendent when coordinating multiple subcontractors on a project?

Remodeling Superintendents often manage several subcontractors simultaneously, each specializing in different trades such as plumbing, electrical, or carpentry. A common challenge is ensuring that all subcontractors are aligned with the project timeline and specifications, as delays or miscommunications can impact the overall schedule. Effective communication, proactive planning, and regular site meetings are crucial to successfully coordinating tasks and resolving conflicts quickly. Building strong relationships with reliable subcontractors and maintaining detailed progress documentation can also help mitigate these challenges.

What jobs pay 500,000 a year in the US?

Remodeling superintendents typically do not earn $500,000 annually; such high salaries are usually associated with executive roles like CEOs, surgeons, or specialized professionals in finance and technology. High-paying construction or project management roles may reach six figures, but exceeding $500,000 is rare and often involves ownership stakes or bonuses. Most remodeling superintendents earn between $70,000 and $150,000 per year depending on experience and location.
