Overview
The Senior Project Architect position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group's quickly growing Philadelphia area team out of Conshohocken, PA. We will all be sharing knowledge, learning, growing, and continuing to be an integral part of supporting PM Group's ongoing expansion in the US. Our office is executing cutting-edge projects for Pharmaceutical, Biologics and Cell & Gene Therapy manufacturing facilities - from feasibility through to qualification - for both local and international clients. Together with our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.
This is a senior-level career position and we are looking for a Project Architect who enjoys client interaction as well as the technical design aspects of the position. 15+ Years of experience leading large-scale life science, laboratory and tech projects for multi-national clients and the ability to successfully handle multiple real-time complex project is required. The ability to tackle operational tasks as well as maintain a strong work ethic and drive delivery for clients as a collaborative colleague are inherent in the role. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading conceptual design teams for Life Sciences projects providing innovative, cost-effective and sustainable solutions through the full design and project life cycle. Project sizes will vary and will consist primarily of life science industry projects doing both existing building improvements and new construction.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee successful architectural designs on a set of architectural drawings being executed within the office
  • Manage and lead the successful architectural design on specific projects as the Architectural Lead
  • Manage and oversee the successful deployment of architectural design following PM Group Design Quality Management Systems
  • Resource planning and workhour estimate preparation
  • Maintain strong client relationships to attract, win, and deliver projects
  • Provide leadership to the team, communicate company / team / individual goals, and set clear performance expectations
  • Recruitment and development of personnel
  • Participate in proposal and business development activities
  • Actively support Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • Liaise proactively with all other office and project disciplines, as well as Group SME's / Technical Directors where necessary
  • Champion Health & Safety in design and construction
  • Mentoring Junior, Mid-Level and Senior Architects
  • Support use of Multi-Office Execution (MOE) capability
  • Participate in all phases of the design lifecycle in projects
  • Estimating and scoping of architectural element of projects
  • Refine and improve the interaction with other Disciplines
  • Interact with clients with a view to building positive working relationships and securing future projects and opportunities
  • Responsible for all aspects of technical quality of discipline deliverables including checking, use of proper forms and work procedures along with all discipline related calculations and respective software programs
  • Develop / identify suitable tools, procedures, and standards to enhance the discipline
  • Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of professional experience - required
  • Degree in Architecture or equivalent
  • Architectural licensure in practicing states - (NCARB Certification is an advantage)
  • Experience in life sciences, laboratory and/or high-tech sector in the USA, including planning, designing, building and validating modern Laboratory, cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, Vivarium and Office space in the U.S.
  • Understanding the focus on the ever-growing need to modify existing legacy facilities, as well as green-filed, and current trends in life science manufacturing including sustainability and Innovation.
  • Project work to demonstrate master planning of Greenfield and Brownfield sites.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and coordination skills with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary A&E teams.
  • Detailed knowledge of planning legislation, USA building regulations, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Must present proficient skills in using AutoCAD, Revit and its suite of design software; proficient skills in Sketchup (or similar program like Rhino), Bluebeam & Adobe Creative Suite would be an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal/written skills
