Job description

Position Summary

Serve as an employee relations partner for work matters at the NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) campus. Investigate problems, such as working conditions, disciplinary actions, and employee and applicant appeals and grievances. Provide advice, problem resolution, and facilitation in the areas of more complex employee relations, performance management, employee relations policies, procedures, and documentation; research, identify, and analyze specific employee relations concerns and make appropriate recommendations.

Additionally serve as HR Business Partner for select business units or on an assigned basis for the NYUAD organization. Serve as a client account manager, HR strategist, and project manager to ensure effective strategic and tactical HR service delivery. Provide strategic diagnosis of people-related organizational planning, including coaching/counseling of senior clients, translating organizational strategy outcomes into tactical goals and objectives, aligning resources for initiative planning and execution, and developing metrics to ensure success measures are implemented and effective.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education: Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field Required Experience: 7+ years relevant experience in employee relations and/or as a human resources generalist in a professional environment or managerial capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. and 1+ years experience working in a global environment in addition to relevant work experience in the United States Preferred Experience: 3+ years relevant experience in employee relations and/or as a human resources generalist in a professional environment or managerial capacity supporting an organization based in the GCC region. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Thorough knowledge, technical mastery, skill and judgment in the application of relevant employment and labor laws and regulations. Effective conflict resolution, facilitation and consultation skills. Skill in fact-finding, analysis, problem‑solving and consulting to identify problems and recommend solutions. Excellent written verbal and presentation communication skills. Experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.. Strong leadership skills. A team player with superior ability to work independently. Familiarity with the uses of databases, data analysis and modeling as management tools. Proficiency in standard work productivity software.

Solid understanding of a client‑facing, HR business partner service model. Strong consultative, negotiation, analytical and influencing skills. . Strong business/organizational knowledge (finance, operations). Significant multi‑tasking, spatial thinking abilities.

Must be able to travel to the United Arab Emirates when requested for NYU Abu Dhabi leadership and client support. Must routinely work early mornings New York time to meet NYUAD client obligations. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with labor law in the United Arab Emirates.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $160,000.00 to USD $180,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
